Tockholes Moors Ride Print
The ride starts from the Royal Arms / Visitor Center car park. Post Code BB3 0PA The front car park belongs to the Royal Arms, the rear car park is public. There is also parking on the main road. If the weather is good it can be busy. The ride is approximately 5.5 mls. leaving the Visitor Center, turn left and follow round in front of a house through a gate onto the Moors. The track now climbs up [there may be horses in the field] towards a gate and into a small woods. Continue through the woods to a fence with an opening facing you. Go through the opening climbing up Step Back, take care as this track is not always in good condition, and follow it to the junction at the top. Turn left and cross the Moor to the Tower, keeping to the right fork, if you look left you can see Blackpool Tower and the river estuary. Go round or in front of the Tower and continue downhill keeping to the right fork. At the bottom turn left onto Manor Road and follow it to the second road junction.Turn left on the road and follow the track to the right at the top. Follow the track to Pinfold and Turn Lane bearing right at the top down to the Sunnyhurst Pub. Turn left on the road and follow it round to the junction and keep to the left back up the hill through two gates to the woods, turn right through the woods back to the Visitor Center.Download: Tockholes Ride1.gpx Tockholes Ride1 Waypoints.gpx
THOLEWP1
The start and finish are from the Royal Arms / Visitor centre. Post Code BB3 0PA. [There is an alternative Start at Manor Road Post Code BB3 2SN]. The front car park belongs to the Royal Arms and the rear one is a public car park.The ride is fairly easy covering 5.9 miles [9.44 km] over the Moor to the Jubilee Tower and back. Leave the car park turning left via the road, or in front of the cafe and follow round to the left, keeping the house on your left, onto the bridleway and gate to the Moor.

Go through the gate, which is easy to open / close and follow the track through the woods.

At the tee junction go round the edge of the fence straight on. It is better to ride up Step Back. Follow the track round to the tee junction at the top.

Follow the track round to the left accross the open Moor towards the Tower.

Follow the track to the right with the Jubilee Tower in front and to the right.

At this point you can choose to Ride round the Tower or just go straight on via the link.

At the junction follow the right hand track, and at the next cross junction take the right hand track following the track downhill towards Manor Road.

Follow round to the left onto Manor Road. Follow the road to Westland Avenue and turn left following the road to the top.

Follow the track round to the right and then left. As it climbs there is a livery yard on the left, carrying straight on to the cottages on your right.

There are somtimes Alpacas in a field on your right at this point, and donkeys on your left at the top. This section of Bridleway was only designated a short time ago.

At the bottom of the bridleway turn left on the road past the Sunnyhurst pub and follow the road round with the woods on your right, there is car park in the woods so there will be some traffic.

The access road now becomes unsurfaced as you follow the branch to your left and start climbing to the farm on your left. Go through the gates and follow the track round to WP2 and turn right back, to the Visitor Centre.
