From St Marys Church follow the main village road southwards, keeping the pond on your left.

Pass Lynn Lane on your right (opposite the southern end of the pond), and continue along Castle Acre Road.

A short distance after passing Lings Country Goods (Heath Farm) on your right is a fork junction. Follow the right hand fork of this down Drunken Drove.

After about a mile the Peddars Way crosses the road. Turn right (northwards) here.

Continue along this track for approximately two miles (crossing over two roads) until you can see the A 148 directly in front of you. Just before this, turn left along the back of the Dogotel Kennels and Cattery, and left again just after the boundary of the land owned by the Kennels finishes.

Follow the field edge for approximately half a mile before reaching another track crossing at right angles. Turn right and continue round the edge of the wood.

After approximately one mile you will see a small belt of trees on your left.

Continue to follow this track until reaching another crossing of two tracks. (The sign is ahead of you and not very obvious). Turn left (Eastgate Drove) to Congham Heath Wood.

Turn left when you meet the tarmac road and continue for approximately 2.5 miles until you reach West Heath Farm on your left.

Cross straight over the Peddars Way and return to Great Massingham.
