CLAPw01 Waypoint 1
Road
Leave the parking area and turn right up the road towards the church.


CLAPw02 Waypoint 2
Bridleway
With the church in front of you, turn right and left after a few yards down a stony track. Follow this track around to the right, through two dark tunnels and up the steep hill.


CLAPw03 Waypoint 3
Bridleway Long Lane
At the top, take the bridleway to the left and follow this track for some way with a big hill on your right hand side. Ingleborough Cave is on your left below you part way along this track.

Bridleway
Go through a wide gate and follow the track up to the right, through two smaller horse friendly gates. Aim to go past Long Scar Cairn (you can go to the left or to the right of it), follow the track until you see a way marker (enjoy the amazing views),

Bridleway
Take the track to the right, almost going back on yourself. Follow this track all the way down the hill towards a farmhouse and follow the wall on your left to pick up the rough track (through two small gates). This rough track has a water trough on it. There is a cattle grid on this track with a gate to the side.

Bridleway
Where the track splits in two, take the left hand fork down the hill and through the ford. This narrow bridleway brings you down into Wharfe.

There is a large gate at the end, go through and carry on down to the road.

Road
Turn right along this road. After about half a mile there is the pennine bridleway on the right hand side.

Road
If you want to cut the ride short you can go down this track back to Clapham. If you want to carry on, go another half a mile.

Bridleway
Follow this track over a large ford and carry on for some way with no turnings. Go over a very small ford and take the bridleway to the right by an old stone barn.


CLAPw11 Waypoint 11
Bridleway / Brunton Road
Follow this track to the road, go straight over and up the road for half a mile or more. This brings you to a main road.

Road
Turn left and follow this road for a couple of hundred yards to the bridleway opposite a garage.

Bridleway
Turn left opposite the garage and go through a good bridleway gate and follow the track up the steep hill.

Bridleway
The track goes through a narrow gate on the left hand side by a bridleway sign, through a stone wall. Follow the grass track through two more narrow gates and follow (bearing left ish) down the hill to a large unfriendly gate.


CLAPw15 Waypoint 15
Road / Bridleway
At the road take a left then right after a few yards down the side of a barn. This is a concrete track at some points, stony at others. Follow this to the end (no turnings) where you come back to the old stone barn where you turned off previously.


CLAPw16 Waypoint 16
Bridleway
Follow your route to the right, back through the fords and to the main road. Turn right and follow this back to the Pennine bridleway sign (where you could have taken a short cut).

Bridleway Thwaite Lane
Turn left on the bridleway, Thwaite Lane and follow this all the way back to the track junction.

Bridleway / Road
Carry Straight on past the bridleway on your right, the start of your ride, and return to the parking area.
