Many beaches and estuaries have a common law right of access on horseback. On some, this may be suspended through local bylaws, either forbidding equestrian access completely or limiting it to time of day or year. Equestrian access may also be affected by barriers or physical constraints even if there is no bylaw preventing access. This feature on DobbinData captures polygons (shapes) in case the beach has areas which are restricted and others which are not. If you are not sure about equestrian access to the beach, please check with the town or borough council.
Please report near misses or incidents on www.horseincidents.org.uk or BHS app 'Horse i', not DobbinData. Obstructions or other problems should be reported to your county council. For more about other Equestrian Mapping Projects see www.bhsaccess.org.uk
